Confetti Pads on Grey

In this small square the pads scatter like confetti, a dense drift of tiny leaves in blue, magenta, orange, lime, yellow and violet crowding the upper half of the panel.

They thin out towards the foreground, where a few pads float alone on flat slate-grey water and cast soft reflections. Tiny red and orange flecks stand in for buds among the mass. The palette is joyful and near-abstract, the pond reduced to pure rhythm and jewel colour.
