Pond in Bloom, Turquoise

A wide view flattens the pond into a mosaic of overlapping pads in every green, plus muted teal, olive, brick-red and violet, drifting across a broad expanse of turquoise water. The leaves are simplified into clean, near-abstract shapes with notched hearts, their realism dissolved into pattern.

Two soft pink blooms and a pale bud rise at intervals among the pads, small points of tenderness in the tiling of colour. The empty lower water gives the crowded top of the canvas room to breathe.
