The artist looks up and aside, her greyscale face and patterned jacket set against a slate wall. Torn sheets of a Telugu newspaper are pasted and painted into the ground, their red and blue headlines the loudest colour in the picture.
Around them a menagerie of flat black silhouettes - a crow, a dog, a rooster, beetles and a frog - scatters like cut paper, while faint spider webs spread in the shadowed left corner. Behind her dark glasses she stays composed as a world of print, rumour and small creatures swarms the surface.
