The artist meets us head-on, a crimson scarf blazing against a grey printed tee, a white cup and saucer held mid-sip. The figure and drapery are rendered in full photorealist detail, the folds of fabric and the thin metal spoon convincingly weighted.

Behind her, a dense collage of fashion and beauty clippings - Dior, Prada, glossy models and cosmetics - papers the entire ground in muted greys, so that the living red of the scarf and lips reads as the only true colour. The effect sets one real woman against a wall of manufactured images of women.
